Forestry Camp Release Paths

Bell County Forestry Camp is a minimum-security adult institution operated by the Kentucky Department of Corrections. A person may leave through full sentence expiration, parole, mandatory reentry supervision, or another authorized state mechanism. A move to a different KDOC institution is not a community release. The displayed status, actual date, destination, and supervision record must be read together.

The KDOC facilities directory establishes the camp's institutional role. For a named person, Kentucky Offender Online Lookup, known as KOOL, is the primary search. KDOC's date-by-date Daily Releases PDFs provide a stronger time-indexed check because their “Released From” field can connect the event to Bell County Forestry Camp. VINE adds a custody-change record and optional notification.

Confirm Forestry Camp Release

Open KOOL and search by DOC number when possible. A name search can be narrowed with age, aliases, conviction county, offense, institution, and supervision status. Match the person before interpreting the result. KOOL advises using as little search information as necessary when a spelling or middle name is uncertain.

1. Record the current status, institution, DOC number, and exact date labels.
2. Open the KDOC Daily Releases archive for the date in question.
3. Check whether “Released From” identifies Bell County Forestry Camp.
4. Use Kentucky VINE for a matching custody event.
5. If supervision follows release, verify routing through KDOC District 10 and its Bell County office.

Do not collapse parole eligibility, minimum expiration, maximum expiration, projected release, and an actual release date into one concept. Eligibility permits consideration. Forestry Camp Release Records

Include the full name plus date of birth or offender ID. A standard form is optional according to the current KDOC request page. It publishes charges of ten cents per released paper page, one dollar for a CD plus postage, and about two dollars and fifty cents for a USB drive plus postage. It also describes a five-day response period. Fees and office details can change, so check the live page before sending.

About Bell County Forestry Camp

The forestry camp is not a county jail and should never be searched as one. It holds adults within Kentucky's state prison system. County of arrest does not control final prison placement, and a Bell County case can be served elsewhere in KDOC. Likewise, a person at the camp may have been convicted in another county.

State records are identity- and sentence-centered. KOOL may show an offender photo indicator, aliases, conviction and sentence data, location or status, supervision dates, and parole or expiration fields. The Daily Releases archive is event-centered. Its dated reports reach through multiple years and can document the institution from which KDOC reports a release. Neither source is a complete Bell County Detention Center release log.

Two Bell County Release Tracks

Bell County's county detention center and its named KDOC institution create an unusual local split. A short local booking, bond-out, dismissal, or jail transfer belongs to the detention center, VINE, and Bell County court path. A camp discharge or parole belongs to KOOL, Daily Releases, KDOC open records, and Probation and Parole. The shared county name does not merge those record systems.

If a Daily Releases report names the camp in “Released From,” compare that row with the KOOL status and date. If KOOL merely changes location, investigate whether the event was an institutional transfer. For county jail evidence, use Bell County Detention Center release records instead.

Bell County Supervision After Release

Parole means release before full sentence expiration under conditions. Mandatory Reentry Supervision is another Kentucky release-to-supervision status. Probation is imposed by a court and is not the same as parole. A KOOL result may say “Released To Other Agency (Probation & Parole)” and display supervision begin and end dates. That confirms departure from prison into the listed arrangement, not full discharge from every obligation.

Older Forestry Camp Discharges

Research did not establish that KOOL retains every fully discharged person forever. When an older name does not appear, search the dated Daily Releases archive, review the sentencing court case, and request the KDOC record. A narrow request should seek the release or discharge record, movement history, release type, actual date, and public sentence-computation fields by DOC number.

The state report is particularly useful because the “Released From” entry ties an event to the camp. Still, a single source rarely answers every question. KOOL supplies person and sentence context; the report supplies a dated event; the Parole Board supplies decision records; VINE supplies notification; and P&P explains active community supervision.

Read Forestry Camp Release Dates

KOOL can place several calculation fields on one offender detail page. Expected Time To Serve, Minimum Expiration of Sentence Date, Good Time Release Date, Parole Eligibility Date, Maximum Expiration Date, and a proposed release date do not mean the same thing. A parole table may also show a hearing date, action, months deferred, and next eligibility date. Preserve each label and its context. Only an actual completed release event should be described as historical release.

Kentucky sentence credits help explain why a projected date can move. KRS 197.045 provides several categories subject to eligibility, program completion, conduct, offense dates, and KDOC calculation. Credits can be earned, forfeited, or barred after institutional violations. Consecutive sentences also aggregate for calculation. The public page is useful for orientation, but an official sentence-computation record is the stronger source for a disputed date.

Some covered violent offenders face the limits in KRS 439.3401. The statute's 85-percent provision applies to the defined violent-offender class, not to every Kentucky prisoner. Other people may follow different statutes and the parole-eligibility regulation. Eligibility opens review. It never promises a favorable Board decision, a release date, or a pickup time from Bell County Forestry Camp.

Kentucky's Mandatory Reentry Supervision framework can create a release-to-supervision event before projected completion for qualifying people who were not granted discretionary parole, subject to statutory exclusions. KOOL may display that status as MRS. It is meaningful. It means release under supervision through the minimum expiration point, not an unexplained early discharge and not freedom from all sentence duties.

When a date matters, compare KOOL with the dated Daily Releases report and the person's status immediately after the event. Then request the public computation or release record if the labels conflict. A court judgment states the sentence authority, while KDOC calculates the state term and credits. Neither a simple arithmetic estimate nor a parole calendar should replace those records.

Forestry Camp Parole Evidence

A Parole Board calendar or eligibility list shows that review was scheduled. It is not proof that Bell County Forestry Camp released the person. A decision can be deferred, denied, or followed by more processing. KOOL may display a hearing action, next eligibility date, and proposed release date. Read those fields beside the current status rather than as a single promise.

For an unposted decision, use the Kentucky Parole Board's open-records route. Then compare the decision with KDOC's Daily Releases report and the institutional movement record. The Board supplies the parole action. KDOC supplies physical custody and sentence administration. If the person enters community supervision, the Bell County Probation and Parole office supplies local routing.

Kentucky VINE offers another event check. It can report release or transfer from participating prisons and county jails. A VINE release event supports a custody change recorded by the supplying agency, but it does not replace the camp's KDOC record or show that every other hold ended.

Forestry Camp Release Notifications

Kentucky says planned state-institution release notice is attempted in advance when possible. A Parole Board action, immediate credit change, court-ordered discharge, or escape can make advance notice impossible, so notice may follow the event. VINE registration and written KDOC victim-services notice are separate options.

For record research, use the actual KOOL status and Daily Releases report. Notification timing should not be converted into a promised departure time from Bell County Forestry Camp. Institutional processing and another valid hold still control the physical movement.
